UN Special Rapporteur: Investigations confirm Zionist occupation is committing genocide in Gaza
The UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in the Palestinian Territories, Francesca Albanese, said that all the investigations she conducted over the past year conclusively confirm that the Zionist occupation is committing genocide in the Gaza Strip.
“There is no doubt that (Israel) is carrying out genocide in Gaza, with intensive destruction operations,” she said.
This came in her speech during a session held in the Spanish Parliament under the title “The role of the military embargo in peacebuilding processes,” which was organised as part of a campaign launched by the Rescop organisation to stop arms sales to the Zionist entity and prevent genocide against the Palestinian people.
She added that the investigations she conducted in cooperation with 30 UN experts, in addition to the decision of the International Court of Justice issued last July, clearly confirm that the Zionist entity is committing genocide in the occupied Palestinian territories, leaving “irreparable damage” to the lives of Palestinians.
Albanese underscored that “imposing an arms embargo alone is not enough,” calling for “severing all military, academic, and diplomatic ties” with the Zionist entity.
