UN Security Council to Hold Emergency Session on Zionist Entity’s Attacks on Syria

The UN Security Council is set to convene an emergency session on Thursday to discuss recent Zionist airstrikes on Syria. Algeria and Somalia, both current members of the Council, requested the meeting, according to a statement from Algeria’s permanent mission to the UN.

The session will address ongoing Zionist military actions in Syria, including a recent airstrike on April 2 that killed nine civilians in Daraa and left many others injured. The meeting is scheduled to take place at 10:00 am local time on Thursday.

Since the fall of Bashar Assad’s regime in December, the Zionist entity has increased its military presence in Syria, particularly in the Golan Heights, by seizing the demilitarized buffer zone. This action has been widely condemned as a violation of a 1974 disengagement agreement between Syria and the Zionist entity.

Zionist strikes on Syrian territory have been frequent since the Assad regime’s downfall, targeting military installations, fighter jets, missile systems, and air defense structures, further escalating tensions in the region.
