UN Security Council to Hold Emergency Meeting on Iran

The UN Security Council is set to convene an emergency meeting on Iran later on Thursday, following a request by the United States, a Security Council source told Sputnik. The session is scheduled to begin at 20:00 GMT.

According to the source, the meeting will be held under the agenda item addressing the broader situation in the Middle East, amid rising regional tensions and growing international concern over developments involving Iran.

The move comes after US President Donald Trump threatened potential strikes on Iran in the context of ongoing large-scale protests across the country, further heightening diplomatic and security anxieties at the international level.
