UN Security Council Convenes Thursday to Address Palestinian Cause

The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) is to hold its quarterly open debate on Thursday to discuss “The situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian question.” The meeting will open with a briefing by Ramiz Alakbarov, the Deputy Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process. This meeting has been listed a a special event on the Council’s agenda by decision of the Russian Federation, which holds the Council’s presidency this month.
The meeting is comes as part of the Security Council’s quarterly debates on the Palestinian cause amid ongoing tensions in Gaza and the West Bank.
