UN Scales Down Presence in Gaza Amid Escalating Zionist Attacks

UN Secretary-General António Guterres has decided to scale down the Organization’s presence in Gaza following Zionist intensified military operations in the enclave. Despite the reduction, UN spokesman Stéphane Dujarric affirmed that the UN remains committed to providing vital humanitarian aid to civilians. He noted that  latest Zionist strikes have killed hundreds, including UN personnel, while blocking humanitarian aid from entering the Strip since early March.

Dujarric revealed that the UN will temporarily cut its international staff in Gaza by one-third due to security concerns, while local Palestinian staff continue aid distribution under dire conditions. He also confirmed that a Zionist tank was responsible for strikes on a UN compound in Deir Al Balah on March 19, which killed a UN worker from Bulgaria and severely injured six others. The compound’s location was well known to the parties, highlighting Zionist violation of international law regarding UN premises.

Guterres strongly condemned the attacks and demanded an independent investigation. He reiterated the urgent need for a ceasefire, an end to aid restrictions, and full compliance with international law. The UN chief called on all states to apply diplomatic and economic pressure to halt the conflict and prevent further atrocities in Gaza.
