UN Rapporteur Calls for Global Medical Boycott of “Israel”

Francesca Albanese, the UN special rapporteur on Palestine, called for medical professionals worldwide to sever ties with “Israel” in response to the destruction of Gaza’s health care system. She urged this action as a means to denounce Zionist entity’s complete destruction of the Palestinian healthcare system in Gaza, which she described as a crucial element of the ongoing genocide.
Albanese’s statement coincided with the continuing devastation of Palestinian infrastructure, with Gaza’s medical facilities heavily impacted by Zionist forces actions.
Her remarks highlight growing international concern over the dire humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where hospitals and clinics are being targeted, overwhelmed, and deprived of necessary medical supplies. Albanese also expressed concern over the detention of Dr. Hussan Abu Safiya, a Palestinian doctor, and called for his immediate release.
The ongoing conflict has drawn increasing international condemnation, with the UN issuing resolutions calling for a cease-fire and multiple institutions labeling the actions in Gaza as genocidal. “Israel” is also facing legal challenges at the International Criminal Court and the International Court of Justice for war crimes and genocide related to its actions in Gaza.
