UN OCHA: Over 178,000 Lebanese Unable to Return Home Despite Ceasefire

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has reported that 178,817 Lebanese remain unable to return to their homes, despite the ceasefire with the Zionist entity, which took effect on November 27.
In a report covering the situation in Lebanon from December 6 to 12, OCHA noted that while 902,717 Lebanese have returned to their residences, a significant number remain displaced. Additionally, the report highlighted the return of 55,000 individuals from Syria following the ceasefire announcement.
The ceasefire agreement marked the end of over a year of hostilities initiated by the Zionist entity, which escalated significantly in late September. The prolonged aggression left devastating consequences, with 4,061 people killed and 16,656 injured, including many women and children. The conflict also forced the displacement of nearly 1.4 million people.
As Lebanon begins its recovery process, the humanitarian situation remains critical, with thousands still unable to access basic necessities or rebuild their lives. The return of displaced individuals and the rebuilding of infrastructure pose significant challenges in the aftermath of the conflict.
