UN Human Rights Experts Accuse Zionist Entity of Medical Genocide in Gaza

GAZA – UN human rights experts stated on Wednesday that the Zionist entity’s deliberate destruction of Gaza’s healthcare system amounts to “medical genocide,” accusing the Zionist entity of intentionally targeting and starving healthcare workers, paramedics, and hospitals to eliminate medical care in the besieged enclave. “As human beings and UN experts, we cannot remain silent in the face of the war crimes being committed before our eyes in Gaza,” said Tlaleng Mofokeng, the UN Special Rapporteur on the right to health, and Francesca Albanese, the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territory occupied since 1967. They added that alongside the ongoing genocide, the world is witnessing “a medical genocide” intended to destroy Palestinians in Gaza.

The experts warned that the apartheid regime targeting Palestinians in the occupied territory and continued assaults on Gaza’s healthcare system are depleting the last remaining resources in the devastated enclave. They stressed that healthcare workers have been repeatedly targeted, detained, and tortured, and are now facing starvation like the rest of the population.

According to UN reports, some healthcare workers have fainted from hunger, undermining both their right to health and their ability to provide essential care to patients. They condemned the global indifference to Zionist actions, saying it sends the message that Palestinian lives in Gaza are worthless and their dignity, existence, and access to food are being systematically denied.

Calling on the international community to act, the experts emphasized the moral obligation to end the massacre and ensure that Gazans can live on their land free from fear of attack, killing, starvation, or the ongoing reality of occupation and apartheid. They criticized states for failing to fulfill this duty, warning that the people trapped in Gaza are paying the ultimate price for this failure and neglect. The experts called for an immediate ceasefire, accountability for the zionist entity, and urgent measures to save what remains of Gaza’s healthcare system to prevent the extermination of its population.
