UN Human Rights Council to hold urgent debate on Zionist airstrike on Qatar

The United Nations Human Rights Council is set to hold an urgent debate in Geneva on Tuesday on the Zionist entity’s September 9 attack targeting Hamas negotiating team in Qatar.

The debate was requested by Pakistan on behalf of member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and by Kuwait on behalf of the Gulf Cooperation Council.

The request came as leaders of Arab and Islamic states were meeting in Doha on Monday to issue a joint response to the attack.

Tuesday’s urgent debate will be the 10th of its kind to be held at the U.N. Human Rights Council since its creation in 2006.

This comes as the Zionist occupation’s genocidal war on Gaza killed at least 64,871 Palestinians and wounded 164,610 others since October 2023. Thousands more are believed to be under the rubble.
