UN High Commissioner for Refugees Praises Algeria for Longstanding Role in Protecting Refugees

United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Barham Salih met on Tuesday with Algeria’s Ambassador Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office in Geneva, Rachid Bladehane.

During the meeting, the High Commissioner “recognized Algeria’s long-standing role hosting refugees and commitment to protection,” the UNHCR posted on its X account.

In this regard, they discussed advancing solutions to protracted displacement, while sustaining support and cooperation.
