UN: Gaza Children Face Third Consecutive Year Without Education

The United Nations announced Wednesday that children in the Gaza Strip will be deprived of education for the third consecutive year as a result of the Zionist entity’s blockade and ongoing aggression. The closure of schools has deepened the humanitarian crisis in the besieged enclave, leaving tens of thousands of students without access to basic learning.

UN spokesman Stéphane Dujarric stressed during a press conference that the new academic year is approaching, yet “the children of Gaza will lose the opportunity to learn for the third year in a row. Education is a fundamental right, and no child should be deprived of it.” He called on the international community to act urgently to protect this right.

Dujarric highlighted the pressing need to reopen schools and secure conditions for Palestinian children to continue their studies. He warned that the prolonged suspension of education “threatens the future of an entire generation in Gaza,” underscoring the devastating long-term consequences of the Zionist actions on the territory’s youth.
