UN Chief Deeply Concerned Over New Evacuation Orders by Zionist Entity in Northern Gaza

UN Secretary-General António Guterres has expressed deep concern over new evacuation orders issued by the Zionist entity in northern Gaza, which have once again forced tens of thousands of residents to flee their homes.

During the daily press briefing at UN Headquarters in New York, UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric said the Secretary-General condemned the continued loss of civilian life resulting from airstrikes by the Zionist entity and other attacks. He stressed the need for all parties to fully comply with international law, protect civilians, and ensure safe, full, and sustained humanitarian access in line with the principles of humanity, impartiality, neutrality, and independence.

Dujarric also reiterated the UN’s support for ongoing mediation efforts and renewed the Secretary-General’s urgent call for a lasting ceasefire in Gaza.

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported that severe restrictions on aid delivery and humanitarian operations have left the population in Gaza facing catastrophic levels of hunger.

The World Food Programme stated that one in five people in Gaza is suffering from extreme hunger, with over 90,000 women and children in urgent need of treatment for malnutrition.

Despite the availability of 130,000 metric tons of food stored nearby, access remains restricted. OCHA and its partners have called on the Zionist authorities to immediately allow fuel into Gaza, citing its vital role in operating hospitals, desalination plants, sanitation facilities, communications systems, supply transport, and community kitchens.

OCHA warned that without fuel, many of these life-saving services could halt imminently, with potentially deadly consequences for civilians.
