UN : 40,000 Displaced in West Bank as Zionist Raids Escalate

The United Nations reported on Wednesday that 40,000 Palestinians have been forced to flee their homes in the occupied West Bank due to ongoing Zionist military operations. According to Philippe Lazzarini, head of the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), more than 50 people, including children, have been killed since Zionist forces began their latest offensive five weeks ago.
UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric highlighted the destruction of public infrastructure, road blockades, and increasing movement restrictions, particularly in northern areas of the occupied territory.
Zionist forces conducted a 14-hour raid in Nablus on Tuesday, resulting in another fatality and multiple injuries. Checkpoints around the city were closed, leaving residents stranded for hours. The UN reiterated that the use of potentially lethal force should be strictly limited to situations where it is unavoidable to protect lives. The Zionist military has been conducting near-daily operations in the northern West Bank since last month, killing at least 60 people and displacing thousands.
The escalation in military actions has worsened an already dire situation for Palestinians. Since the start of zionist aggression on Gaza on October 7, 2023, at least 923 Palestinians have been killed and nearly 7,000 injured in attacks by Zionist forces and settlers in the West Bank, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
The International Court of Justice ruled in July that Zionist occupation of Palestinian territories is unlawful, demanding the evacuation of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. However, Zionist authorities continue to expand their military operations and settlement activities despite international condemnation.
