Ukraine Set to Sign Minerals Deal with US Within 24 Hours, Says Prime Minister

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced on Wednesday that a long-anticipated minerals agreement with the United States is expected to be signed imminently, potentially within the next 24 hours. Speaking during Ukraine’s national telethon, United News, Shmyhal expressed confidence that the final details were nearing completion.
“As soon as all the final details are finalized, in the near future — hopefully within the next 24 hours — the agreement will be signed and we will receive the first step,” he stated. The deal is seen as a significant move for Ukraine’s economic development and strategic partnership with Washington, particularly in the context of securing critical raw materials.
Shmyhal also revealed that following the signing of the main agreement, Ukraine and the US will move forward with two related technical agreements. These will focus on creating an investment fund and ensuring its financial support and replenishment, signaling a broader scope of bilateral cooperation beyond the mining sector.
