The UK will suspend all aid programs to Georgia and restrict engagement with its government, according to Foreign Secretary David Lammy. This move comes as Lammy criticized recent violent protests in Georgia, stating they undermine the country’s constitutional commitment to European democratic values.
Westminster will maintain these punitive measures “until there is a halt to this move away from European democratic norms and freedoms,” Lammy added, signaling strong opposition to actions that threaten Georgia’s European aspirations.
