UEFA Honors Ronaldo at Champions League Draw Ceremony

Monaco, August 29, 2024 – The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) honored Cristiano Ronaldo, the Saudi Al-Nassr player, today at the Champions League draw ceremony.
The Portuguese superstar received the UEFA President’s special award in recognition of being the all-time top scorer in Champions League history, having netted 140 goals in 183 matches and secured five titles in this prestigious European competition.
Taking place in the French city of Monaco, the draw marks the beginning of a new season featuring an updated format with 36 teams, eliminating the traditional group stage. Under this new system, each team will play eight matches—four at home and four away.
