U.S. Deputy Secretary of State: “Amazing opportunities” for U.S.-Algeria commercial ties

U.S. Deputy Secretary of State, Christopher Landau, affirmed his country’s aspiration to expand and strengthen economic relations with Algeria, highlighting the “amazing opportunities” that would benefit the peoples of both countries.

Landau said in a message to the “great people of Algeria,” shared via a video posted by the U.S. Embassy in Algeria on its official social media accounts, that “one of the most exciting things I’ve been working on lately is opening up the commercial relationship between our two great countries,” noting that the opportunities available will benefit both the Algerian and American peoples.

The U.S. Deputy Secretary of State also expressed his pleasure at meeting with the Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, last Thursday in New York, where they discussed ways to seize the available opportunities.

In this regard, the U.S. official expressed his eagerness to visit Algeria and hope that the two countries will “come closer together, and have both of our peoples to become more prosperous.”
