Turkish President Calls Zionist Entity’s Recognition of Somaliland “Illegitimate, Unacceptable”

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the Zionist entity’s decision to recognize Somaliland is “illegitimate and unacceptable.” Speaking at a joint press conference with Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Tuesday, Erdogan said that “maintaining Somalia’s unity and territorial integrity under all circumstances is a top priority for us.”
Erdogan emphasized that Turkiye “will continue to firmly support Somalia’s territorial and political unity and stand by the Somali people.” The Somali President, in turn, said his country “has experienced Turkiye’s support in facing threats to Somalia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.”
