Tunisia’s Presidential Election: Voting Begins Abroad

Polling centers and voting offices for the Tunisian presidential election abroad opened their doors on Friday, as announced by the Independent High Authority for Elections (ISIE). These locations are situated in Arab countries, Europe, and East Asia.
According to Najla Abrougui, a member of the ISIE, the voting process is “proceeding under normal logistical and organizational conditions.”
Voting commenced on Friday at 8:00 AM local time (GMT+1) in Sydney, Australia.
Overseas voting for the presidential election will continue until October 6, coinciding with the election date in Tunisia.
The ISIE reports that the polling center in San Francisco, USA, is the last to open, scheduled for 4:00 PM Tunisian local time.
Official figures indicate that 6.6% of the electorate resides abroad, totaling 642,810 voters across 59 countries. In total, 319 polling centers and 409 voting offices have been established.
