Tunisia : President Kaïs Saïed submits his candidacy to join the presidential race

The Tunisian President, Kaïs Saïed, visited, Monday, at the Independent High Authority for Elections (ISIE) headquarters, where he submitted his candidacy for the upcoming presidential elections, scheduled for October 6, according to the Tunisian press agency TAP.
President Kaïs Saïed had officially announced on July 19 his willingness to run for a second presidential term.
According to the electoral schedule, the period for submitting candidacies for the presidential elections ends on August 6.
More than nine million Tunisian voters will be called to vote next October to choose their future president among the preliminary list of candidates, which will be announced on August 11, declared Monday the president of ISIE, Farouk Bouasker.
