Trump’s Letter to Iran to Be Delivered Via Arab State, Says FM Araqchi

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi confirmed on Wednesday that a letter from U.S. President Donald Trump will be handed over to Iran via an unnamed Arab country. Speaking after a cabinet session, Araqchi stated that while the letter had been written, Iran had not yet received it. Trump previously claimed on March 7 that he had sent a letter to Ayatollah Khamenei, calling for renewed negotiations amid his administration’s continued “maximum pressure” campaign.
Araqchi reiterated Iran’s stance on its nuclear program, affirming its commitment to negotiations based on equality. He highlighted ongoing talks with the European Troika following the U.S. withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal. Additionally, he announced that Iran, Russia, and China will hold a trilateral meeting on March 14, 2025. He criticized the European Union’s approach toward Iran, particularly in the IAEA Board of Governors, accusing them of failing to uphold their commitments post-U.S. withdrawal.
Addressing claims of Iran’s global isolation, Araqchi dismissed them, emphasizing that Iran maintains extensive diplomatic ties with numerous countries. He reaffirmed Iran’s adherence to the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), stating that its nuclear program remains within legal obligations.
