Trump Weighs Tomahawk Missiles for Ukraine Amid Putin’s Warning of Escalation

According to The Washington Post, if President Donald Trump authorizes the delivery of Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine, it would represent a major shift in his current policy toward the conflict. The newspaper noted that Trump has so far prioritized ending hostilities and “normalizing relations with Russia,” making such a move a possible turning point in Washington’s stance.

The White House has remained deliberately vague on whether it will approve the sale, with Trump stating that he had “sort of” made a decision but wanted clarity on how Kyiv plans to use the weapons. The administration’s final ruling is expected to depend on the specific restrictions imposed on the missiles’ deployment.

Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin warned that supplying Tomahawks to the Zelensky regime would signal a “qualitatively new stage of escalation,” stressing that Ukraine would not be able to operate such advanced systems without the direct involvement of US personnel.
