Trump Threatens to Strip Harvard of $3 Billion in Grants, Redirect Funds to Trade Schools

US President Donald Trump on Monday threatened to revoke $3 billion in federal grants from Harvard University and redirect the funds to trade schools nationwide, escalating his administration’s campaign against the Ivy League institution.
“I am considering taking Three Billion Dollars of Grant Money away from a very antisemitic Harvard, and giving it to TRADE SCHOOLS all across our land,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “What a great investment that would be for the USA, and so badly needed.”
The move follows Trump’s repeated accusations that Harvard has failed to comply with federal demands, including releasing a list of foreign students the administration claims may include “radicalized lunatics” who should be denied reentry into the US. A judge recently blocked an order suspending Harvard’s ability to enroll international students.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem echoed the administration’s criticism, accusing Harvard of “fostering violence, antisemitism, and coordinating with the Chinese Communist Party.” In response, the Trump administration froze the $3 billion in grants and raised the threat of revoking the university’s tax-exempt status.
