Trump Says Talks Ongoing as Iran Denies Any Contact

U.S. President Donald Trump responded to Iran’s denial of negotiations by insisting that communication is taking place, despite what he described as difficulties in obtaining information due to ongoing military strikes.

“It’s hard to get any information there because of the U.S. blowing up their infrastructure,” Trump said, while reaffirming that discussions are underway. He added that his envoys, including Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, had held talks with Iranian counterparts “last night.”

However, Iran has categorically rejected these claims. Officials in Tehran continue to assert that no direct or indirect discussions are taking place with Washington, contradicting Trump’s narrative of “very intense” and ongoing diplomacy. The divergence underscores the deep mistrust between the two sides, as tensions remain high following threats of strikes on Iran’s energy infrastructure and escalating regional confrontations.
