Trump Orders Additional Defensive Weapons to Ukraine, (Pentagon)

The U.S. Department of Defense announced that it will send additional defensive weapons to Ukraine under direct orders from President Donald Trump.

In a statement published on its official website, Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell confirmed: “Under President Trump’s direction, the Department is sending more defensive weapons to Ukraine to enable the Ukrainian people to defend themselves as we continue working toward a lasting peace and an end to the violence.”

The statement reiterated Trump’s prior commitment to supplying Ukraine with more arms, while emphasizing that the focus remains on defensive capabilities.

This announcement comes after The New York Times reported on July 2 that the United States would temporarily halt the shipment of various weapons systems to Ukraine, including Patriot interceptor missiles, high-precision GMLRS munitions, Hellfire missiles, Stinger missile systems, and others.
