Trump Declares Europe Will Bear Primary Responsibility for Aiding Ukraine

US President Donald Trump stated that European nations will take the lead in supporting Ukraine, while the United States is not currently providing any assistance to Kyiv. Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, as quoted by the White House press pool, Trump emphasized that the burden of aid should shift to Europe.
When asked if he would support Ukraine in the future, Trump responded, “I think Europe will largely be responsible for that. We’re not providing anything, you know. It’s about Europe too.” He also noted that his administration had engaged in “very good talks with Russia” and “very good talks with Ukraine,” suggesting ongoing diplomatic efforts.
Trump’s remarks signal a shift in US policy, potentially reducing Washington’s direct involvement in Ukraine while urging European allies to take greater responsibility.
