Trump Declares ‘Big Day for World Peace’ After US–Iran Ceasefire Announcement

US President Donald Trump has hailed the announcement of a two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran as a major step toward de-escalation, describing it as “a big day for world peace” amid heightened regional tensions.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump said Iran was ready to move away from confrontation, stating, “Iran wants it to happen, they’ve had enough! Likewise, so has everyone else!” He added that the United States would take an active role in managing the situation, particularly in the Strait of Hormuz, noting that Washington would help ease maritime traffic buildup in the strategically vital waterway.

Trump also pointed to potential economic opportunities following the ceasefire, emphasizing that Iran could begin its reconstruction process. He said the United States would provide various supplies and maintain a presence to ensure stability, expressing confidence that “everything goes well.” Concluding his remarks, Trump suggested that the development could pave the way for what he described as a “Golden Age of the Middle East,” provided the current momentum toward calm and cooperation is sustained.
