Trump Confirms New Military Aid to Ukraine, Including Patriot Missiles, with Full EU Reimbursement

WASHINGTON – U.S. President Donald Trump announced Sunday night that the United States will send “various pieces” of “very sophisticated” military equipment to Ukraine, including the much-needed Patriot missile defense systems. He emphasized that Ukraine “desperately needs” these systems as Russian aerial attacks escalate.

Trump also took aim at Russian President Vladimir Putin, saying, “He really surprised a lot of people — he talks nice and then he bombs everybody in the evening,” in reference to Russia’s ongoing strikes.

The announcement comes after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated last week that U.S. military supplies had resumed amid intensified Russian offensives. Trump added that the U.S. will be reimbursed in full — 100% — for the new shipments, clarifying, “That’s the way it should have been a long time ago.”

In a related development, U.S. envoy to Ukraine Keith Kellogg arrived in Kyiv, where he was seen warmly hugging Zelensky’s chief of staff upon arrival, signaling a continued close partnership.
