Trump Appoints Susie Wiles as White House Chief of Staff

U.S. President-elect Donald Trump announced that he has appointed Susie Wiles, his campaign chief, as White House Chief of Staff, marking his first major appointment since his election victory earlier this week.
In a statement, the Republican billionaire praised Wiles, saying, “Susie Wiles helped me achieve one of the greatest political victories in American history.”
Trump added that Wiles will “continue to work tirelessly to make America great again,” referencing his well-known campaign slogan.
The president-elect highlighted that Wiles, in her sixties, will make history as the first woman to hold this prestigious role in the United States, describing her appointment as a “well-deserved honor.”
The role of White House Chief of Staff is seen as the most strategic position within the U.S. executive branch, comparable to the role of chief of staff or royal court head in other countries.
