Trapped Pagers: Lebanon Files a Complaint Against the Zionist Entity with UN

On Wednesday, Lebanon announced that it has filed a formal complaint with the United Nations regarding the deadly explosions of trapped beepers and walkie-talkies throughout the country in September, which have been attributed to the Zionist entity.

Lebanese Minister of Labor, Mustafa Bayram, described this attack as a “flagrant war against humanity, technology, and labor.” He made this statement during a press conference in Geneva, where he confirmed that Lebanon had lodged a complaint with the International Labour Organization (ILO), a specialized agency of the UN.

“This sets a very dangerous precedent,” he added, addressing reporters from the United Nations Accredited Correspondents Association (ACANU), who organized the event.

This decision comes in response to an escalation of airstrikes by the Zionist entity on southern Lebanon, Beirut, and the Beqaa Valley, which began on September 23. The attacks involve the use of beepers and walkie-talkies that have been converted into explosive devices, resulting in dozens of fatalities and thousands of injuries across Lebanon.

“In just a few minutes, over 4,000 civilians were affected, including martyrs, the injured, and those mutilated,” the Lebanese minister recalled. Among the victims, many have “lost fingers, while some have completely lost their sight,” he added.

“We find ourselves in a situation where ordinary objects, everyday items, have become dangerous and lethal,” the minister lamented.

“If no action is taken, this crime could become normalized,” he warned, emphasizing that the purpose of filing the complaint is “to prevent such crimes from occurring in the future.”

“I see it as a moral obligation to my country and to the world,” he insisted.
