Train Crash in Czech Republic Leaves 42 Injured

A collision between two trains in southern Czech Republic on Thursday left at least 42 people injured, rescue services announced.

“There are 40 people with minor injuries and two with serious injuries,” said Petra Kafkova, spokesperson for the ambulance service.

The accident occurred near the city of Ceske Budejovice, about 150 kilometers south of the capital, Prague.

According to Martin Kavka, spokesperson for the railway operator Sprava zeleznic, all passengers were evacuated from the trains.

He did not provide details about the cause of the accident, stating only that an investigation is underway.
