A man has died and fifteen others have been injured following a collision between two passenger trains in Wales, as announced by the transport police on Tuesday. The incident occurred at low speed on Monday evening near the village of Llanbrynmair in central Wales.
“We regret to confirm that one man has lost his life as a result of this evening’s accident,” stated Commissioner Andrew Morgan, a representative of the British transport police. The individuals who were transported to the hospital are not believed to have sustained serious injuries.
The transport police are currently working to “understand the circumstances that led to this collision,” Morgan added.
