Thousands of French Protesters Rally Against French-Zionist Football Match

Thousands of French citizens took to the streets once again in support of the Palestinian people, expressing anger over the upcoming football match. Pro-Palestinian demonstrators gathered near the Saint-Lazare train station and Stade de France stadium, where the match is set to take place, voicing strong opposition to Zionist entity’s participation in sporting events amid its ongoing war on Palestinians. As tensions rose, French police clashed with demonstrators, using tear gas to disperse the crowds.
Pro-Palestinian groups have criticized the French Football Federation for proceeding with the match, demanding that the Zionist entity be sanctioned and excluded from all sports events due to its actions in Palestine and Lebanon, which they label as genocide and war crimes. The groups questioned why the Zionist entity continues to participate in international sports while Russia remains banned, pointing to widespread condemnation of Zionist treatment of Palestinians. Last week, protesters gathered at the French Football Federation’s headquarters, displaying Palestinian flags and banners reading “Champions League of Genocide.”
Amid concerns of possible violence, Paris Police Chief Laurent Nunez designated the match as a high-risk event, deploying over 4,000 security personnel to maintain order, with 2,500 stationed at the stadium. Nunez also announced that Palestinian flags would be prohibited inside the stadium, as the police and security forces prepare for any escalation during this contentious UEFA Nations League event.
