ALGIERS – President Abdelmadjid Tebboune received a phone call on Sunday from the Emir of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, during which he reiterated his congratulations on the President’s re-election for a second term, according to a statement from the Algerian Presidency.
“The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, received today a call from His Highness Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Emir of the State of Kuwait, a brotherly country, during which he extended, on his behalf and on behalf of the Kuwaiti people, warm congratulations on the occasion of Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s re-election as President of the Republic for a new term,” reads the statement.
The two leaders discussed “ways to strengthen the excellent relations between Kuwait and Algeria” and exchanged views on recent events in the region, added the statement.
“The President of the Republic accepted the kind invitation from Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to visit the State of Kuwait, thanking him for Kuwait’s interest in Arab affairs,” the statement concluded.
