The Algerian President receives Chairman of Russian Federation’s Duma

ALGIERS- The Algerian President, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, received Monday, Vyacheslav Viktorovich Volodin, the Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation.

The meeting was convened in the presence of the People’s National Assembly (lower house of parliament) Speaker, Brahim Boughali, the presidency’s chief of staff, Boualem Boualem, and the secretary general of the ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lounès Magramane.

On the other hand, the Chairman of the State Duma, Vyacheslav Viktorovich Volodin, conveyed warm greetings from Russian President Vladimir Putin, and stressed the need to strengthen relations and cooperations, to take relations between the two countries to new heights. Such agreements emanate from a “mutual understanding,” as well as “common position in all international organizations.”

“We have reached some agreements on the establishment of a high-level commission that will discuss the development of relations along parliamentary lines, addressing specific issues in order to achieve results. This is important both for Russia and Algeria. All this became possible after the visit of Algerian President [Abdelmadjid Tebboune] to our country. This gave an impetus to the development of our relations,” added Volodine in a statement.

Ultimately, Both sides agreed on a mutual delegation visit to Russia led by the Algerian National Assembly Speaker, Ibrahim Boughali, in the near future.
