The Algerian Constitutional Court will announce the final results of the early presidential elections on Saturday at 1:00 pm (local time).
According to a statement from the Algerian Constitutional Court issued today, the announcement of the final results is part of its constitutional duties in accordance with Article 191 of the Constitution and Article 260 of the Organic Law on the Electoral System.
The final results announcement follows the Constitutional Court’s review of appeals submitted by candidates Youcef Aouchiche from the Socialist Forces Front party and Abdelali Hassani Cherif from the Movement of Society for Peace party.
For reference, the campaign teams of the three presidential candidates issued a joint statement on Sunday, highlighting “inaccuracies and contradictions” in the provisional results announced by the President of the Algerian Independent Authority for Elections (ANIE).
