The African Union supports the Algerian President’s recommendations to implement the North African Regional Capability

ACCRA (Ghana) – In his capacity as Chairman of the North African Regional Capability (NARC), President Abdelmadjid Tebboune submitted a report on the need to activate the NARC, as one of the main pillars of peace and security in the region. Respectively, the closing statement stipulated an agreement on the recommendations introduced in the report.
According to the report, profits and achievements can be maintained through :
– Welcoming the announcement of the NARC readiness for implementation.
– Supporting the NARC Executive Secretariat in the course of implementing the programmed field exercise, which will be a distinguished addition to The African Standby Force (ASF) as a whole.
– Endorsing the memorandum of understanding on the ASF between the AU Commission, in addition to the Regional Economic Communities, and the Regional Mechanisms.
– Moving forward with the strategic concept review of the ASF as an integral part of the African peace and security, in order to correspond with the AU’s doctrine on peacekeeping operations.
