
Today, Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune reaffirmed Algeria’s commitment to supporting Libya, emphasizing that the resolution for the “brotherly nation can only be achieved through elections.”
During a joint press conference with Libyan Presidential Council President Mohamed Younes El-Menfi, following their discussions at the presidential office, the President indicated that their “brotherly consultations addressed the current situation in Libya and aimed to strengthen bilateral relations between Algeria and Libya.” He underscored, “The essence of our talks is that we have reached full agreement, and there are no clouds of misunderstanding between us and our Libyan brothers.”
He further articulated his aspiration for Libya to achieve stability as soon as possible, reiterating that the solution for the country “will only come through elections,” a sentiment shared by the Libyan Presidential Council President.
In this context, the President clarified that the ultimate decision lies with the Libyan people, and that their choices should be respected by all. He also extended his best wishes for stability and progress to his Libyan counterparts.
Additionally, the President expressed hope for future visits between the two nations, revealing, “We are preparing to meet in Libya as part of the upcoming trilateral consultations (Algeria-Tunisia-Libya), and we are awaiting a date to be set by His Excellency President Mohamed Younes El-Menfi.”
