Tebboune: Any Solution Without a Palestinian State on 1967 Borders is ‘Waste of Time’

ALGIERS, September 4, 2025 – On Thursday in Algiers, Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune described the situation in Palestine, particularly in Gaza, as “a massacre and genocide.” He emphasized that any resolution that does not entail the establishment of a Palestinian state along the 1967 borders is “a waste of time.”

During the opening ceremony of the 4th edition of the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF 2025) held at the Abdelatif-Rahal International Conference Center, the President reaffirmed Algeria’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, asserting that “what is occurring in the West Bank, and Gaza in particular, represents a true massacre and genocide.”

In response to comments made by Tunisian President Kaïs Saïed during the session, President Tebboune remarked that “there is a consensus among all African leaders that a solution to the Middle East conflict must involve the establishment of the State of Palestine based on the 1967 borders; any alternative is simply a waste of time.”
