Tebboune: Algeria, Victorious Over Colonialism, Confidently Continues its Achievements

Algerian President, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Minister of National Defense, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, stated on Friday that commemorating the 70th anniversary of the glorious Revolution serves to remind us that Algeria, having triumphed over colonialism, continues to achieve victories confidently, thanks to its devoted citizens who uphold the legacy of the brave martyrs.
“The commemoration of this significant anniversary, which symbolizes glory, dignity, and pride, is an opportunity to remind everyone that Algeria, having overcome colonialism in the past, continues to attain victories with assurance, bolstered by its loyal children who honor the message of the courageous martyrs,” the President declared in a speech delivered during the military parade overseen by the People’s National Army (ANP) along RN 11 adjacent to Djamaâ El-Djazaïr, marking the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of the Revolution.
At the outset of his address, the President extended warm wishes to the resilient Algerian people and welcomed guests from other nations. He expressed gratitude for their presence in celebrating this momentous anniversary while acknowledging Algeria’s significant role in promoting security and stability in the region, as well as its steadfast support for just causes and the defense of people’s rights to peace and development.
The President also commended “the People’s National Army (ANP) and all security forces, including those stationed at our borders to defend our sacred land, as well as those tasked with safeguarding our airspace and coastlines, ready to sacrifice to preserve the legacy of our noble martyrs and defend the Republic and its achievements.”
“On this illustrious day, we ensured that the military parade reflects the significance and symbolism of this 70th anniversary and pays tribute to the sacrifices of its architects, demonstrating loyalty to those who have safeguarded this legacy. We also aimed for it to embody the sacred bond of unity between the people and the members of the People’s National Army, who hail from this very populace and carry out their missions with profound nationalism, unwavering commitment, and genuine patriotism,” the President specified.
In this context, he recalled that “the doctrine of the People’s National Army, a worthy successor to the National Liberation Army (ALN), is defensive in nature, and its armament is solely intended for the defense of Algeria and the protection of its national sovereignty. This includes contributing to the establishment of international security and peace, in accordance with our country’s international and regional commitments while respecting international law and adhering to our constitutional principles.”
“Despite the current economic and security challenges facing the world, we continue the process of building a new Algeria and achieving accomplishments through the launch of promising development projects, made possible by the unified efforts of dedicated nationalists who believe in our country’s capabilities and resources. Together, we aspire to elevate Algeria to the anticipated level and fulfill our citizens’ aspirations for a dignified life within a framework of security and stability,” the President emphasized.
The Algerian President concluded his speech by offering a heartfelt tribute to the memory of our brave martyrs—those from the popular resistance, the glorious liberation revolution, and the national duty.
