The Algerian President, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, stated on Thursday in Algiers that the African Start-up Conference has evolved into a continental event that reaffirms the commitment of Africans to confront future challenges and establish the foundation for a unified continental ecosystem.
In a speech delivered on his behalf by Prime Minister Nadir Larbaoui to attendees of the third edition of the African Start-up Conference, the President emphasized that this gathering is “now a continental assembly that underscores our dedication, as Africans, to tackle future obstacles and to lay the groundwork for an ecosystem founded on innovation and integration. This will enable us to optimize our countries’ capabilities and enhance our continent’s standing on the global stage.”
During this third edition, held under the high patronage of the President, participants will focus on exploring both the opportunities and challenges associated with the development of artificial intelligence in Africa. They will also discuss strategies to transform innovative ideas into tangible projects that promote sustainable development. Furthermore, they will evaluate the progress made on the continental start-up roadmap and the Algiers Declaration for start-up development in Africa, which were adopted in earlier editions.
Additionally, discussions will aim to formulate a new roadmap for advancing artificial intelligence across Africa. Joining ministers and officials responsible for innovation and start-ups from various African countries and the African Union, over 500 start-ups, investors, and experts from different regions of the continent are participating in this edition.
