Tanzania: Five Killed in Helicopter Crash on Mount Kilimanjaro

Five people were killed when a helicopter crashed at Barafu Camp on Mount Kilimanjaro, the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority announced on Thursday.

A helicopter operated by KilimedAir crashed on Mount Kilimanjaro on Wednesday. According to witnesses, the aircraft went down a few minutes after taking off from the Barafu Camp helipad, at an altitude of about 4,700 meters above sea level.

The victims include the pilot, a rescuer, two clients, and a mountain guide.
