Table Tennis/African Championships: Algerian Duo Jellouli-Kessaci Advances to Final

The Algerian pair of Jellouli Milhane and Kessaci Amina secured their place in the final of the mixed doubles event at the African Table Tennis Championships in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, by defeating their Nigerian opponents 3-2 in a semi-final match on Wednesday evening.

In the other semi-final, the Egyptian duo of Abdelaziz Youcef and Alhodaby Mariam triumphed over fellow Egyptians Helmy Mahmoud and Fathy Hend with a score of 3-1.

The final is set to occur this afternoon at 5:00 PM. Additionally, Thursday’s schedule at the African Championships features the singles events, with Kherouf Samir, Bella Maheidine, and Jellouli Milhane competing in the men’s category, alongside Lynda Loghraibi, Kessaci Amina, and Nasri Malissa in the women’s category.

It is noteworthy that the Algerian table tennis team previously claimed a silver medal in the men’s team event, while the women’s team secured a bronze medal after reaching the semi-finals in the team competitions.

Algeria is participating in the African event in Addis Ababa with a total of eight players (four men and four women).

As a reminder, these African Championships serve as qualifiers for the 2025 World Championships in Qatar.
