Syria: EU to Suspend Sanctions on Monday (Diplomats)

BRUSSELS (Belgium), February 21, 2025 – European Union countries are set to suspend their sanctions against Syria on Monday, according to several diplomats in Brussels. The foreign ministers of the 27 member nations are expected to formally approve this suspension during their meeting in Brussels, following a preliminary agreement made at their previous gathering in January. These sanctions primarily affect the banking, energy, and transportation sectors.
