Sudan Reports 1,575 New Cholera Cases and 22 Deaths in One Week

The Sudanese Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday that the country has reported a total of 1,575 new cholera cases and 22 deaths over the past week.

In a statement disseminated through various media outlets, the ministry noted that “the overall number of cases has now reached 101,450, including 2,515 fatalities, across all 18 regions of the country since the outbreak was declared in August 2024.”

This health crisis unfolds amid ongoing clashes between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which have persisted since April 2023. These conflicts have resulted in more than 20,000 deaths and displaced 14 million people, according to reports from the UN and local authorities.
