Steel Industry: Tosyali Algeria Plans to Expand its Exports to EU

ALGIERS – Steel complex Tosyali Algeria in Bethioua, Oran (432-km west of Algiers), plans to strengthen and expand its exports in 2025 to one billion dollars, especially to European Union countries, the executive member of the plant’s Board of Directors, Alp Topcuoglu, said Wednesday.
The announcement was made at a meeting entitled “Trade Facilitation and Regional Integration,” held as part of the 2025 forum of the private sector, within the framework of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group’s 2025 Annual Meetings being held in Algiers (May 19-22), under the patronage of the president of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
Topcuoglu said that after the commissioning of the new flat steel production plant that is part of the complex, and which is experiencing a very good rate of production, “exports are expected to reach one billion dollars,” expecting a more substantial increase in revenue in 2026″.
UE countries are expected to devote shares, in the sector, to Algeria, given the “significant advantages” offered by the Algerian market in terms of tax exemptions for European exporting companies, while Algerian products meant to Europe “still face customs and regulatory barriers.”
