Starvation Claims Five More Lives in Gaza as Death Toll Reaches 139, Including 96 Children

GAZA – Medical sources in the Gaza Strip have confirmed the deaths of five additional Palestinians in the past 24 hours due to starvation and malnutrition, bringing the total number of famine-related fatalities to 139—among them 96 children.

The humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza continues to escalate amid a crippling blockade and severe shortages of food and medical supplies. The deepening famine is occurring alongside what many international observers and experts describe as a genocidal war waged by the Zionist entity since October 7, 2023.

Since March 2, 2025, the occupying Zionist authorities have sealed off all crossings into the Gaza Strip, blocking the flow of humanitarian aid and essential supplies. This has dramatically worsened the famine sweeping across the territory.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) has warned of a sharp rise in malnutrition among children, noting that rates among children under five have doubled between March and June. The World Health Organization has similarly raised alarm, reporting that nearly 20% of children under five in Gaza City are suffering from acute malnutrition.

Despite mounting international pressure and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt the war, the Zionist entity continues its aggression on Gaza. Since October 7, 2023, more than 209,000 Palestinians have been killed or wounded, with most victims being children and women. Over 11,000 people remain missing, and hundreds of thousands have been displaced as famine and destruction spread.
