The announcement follows the signing of a major U.S.-UK agreement aimed at boosting technology investment, which Starmer said would deliver £150 billion into the UK economy.
The accord, known as the “Tech Prosperity Deal,” was finalized after a light-hearted exchange in which Trump asked his top officials whether he should go through with the signing. “Should I sign it, Howard?” Trump quipped to Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, before turning to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent with a grin: “If the deal’s no good, I’m blaming you, Scott.”
Despite the banter, the signing underscores a renewed commitment to strengthening U.S.-UK economic ties through technology and innovation.
