Spain’s PM Sanchez Urges Respect for Lebanon’s Sovereignty Amid Escalating Violence

Pedro Sánchez emphasized that Lebanon “has not chosen this war” and called for its sovereignty and territorial integrity to be respected. He affirmed Spain’s support and solidarity with Beirut amid ongoing attacks in the country.
Sánchez also demanded an immediate end to assaults on UN peacekeeping missions in Lebanon, warning that such attacks “must cease immediately” to prevent further escalation and humanitarian consequences.
The statements come amid rising tensions in the region, as international leaders continue to call for restraint and protection of civilians.
