South Korea: At Least 50 Injured in Factory Fire in Central Region

At least 50 people were injured on Friday, most of them seriously, in a fire that broke out at an auto parts factory in the city of Daejeon in central South Korea, authorities said.

The fire started at a facility in the Munpyeong-dong district, according to The Korea Herald, citing local firefighters.

Authorities raised the alert level to 2 shortly after the fire broke out, mobilizing resources from nearby fire stations.

At least 46 fire vehicles and 115 personnel were deployed to contain the blaze.

According to officials, 35 of the injured were in serious condition, while 15 others suffered minor injuries.

Emergency teams continued efforts to bring the fire under control and assess the damage on site. The cause of the incident was not yet known.
